Aldrich Cup

The Aldrich Cup is an annual 3 v 3 tournament the team holds at the end of the year to have some fun and send the seniors off on a great note, no matter how the season has gone. Our records date back to 2021/22, and we have kept it going since.

When Coach Ray took over the team weeks before the season was to start in 2018, Ben Aldrich was the team president. At the time, Coach Ray had not coached an ACHA team and the executives had not been doing much of the administration of the team, as the school wanted them to. Much of that season was spent learning all the rules and requirements of the ACHA and also WPI. We don't talk about our record that season, just that the team survived. Ben was instrumental in helping to get the team from the brink of disbanding to the thriving team we have today. The Aldrich Cup was named in honor of that work. This is not a memorial tournament. If you want to see Ben, most years he plays in our annual Alumni game in November before a WPI game.
